🦷 Quick Summary: Our Aligners
Our Aligners: Airway-Focused, Jaw-Optimized, and Built for Precision
At Clear Aligners Direct, we do more than just straighten teeth. Our approach is Airway-First Orthodontics. We focus on correcting the shape, size, and position of the jaws to ensure optimal breathing and health. By establishing this stable, functional foundation first, we create the perfect canvas for a balanced, beautiful smile.
Most of our patients are treated with our Premium Thermoformed Aligners, while Direct 3D-Printed Aligners are reserved for specific clinical cases where we deem the material properties will offer a distinct advantage.
What matters most is this: you’ll always know which aligner type you’re wearing—and how to use it properly.
Our Primary Standard: Premium Thermoformed Aligners
Why We Use Thermoformed Materials
To achieve significant changes in jaw position and tooth alignment, we need materials with high structural integrity. Our primary aligners are thermoformed over precision-milled models. This refined process ensures the aligner is strong enough to reliably guide the teeth and jaws into their ideal positions.
Key Benefits
- Predictable Jaw & Tooth Movement: These aligners provide the consistent, firm pressure required to develop the jaw and optimize the airway while aligning your teeth.
- Superior Strength & Durability: Built to withstand daily wear and the forces needed for jaw correction without losing shape or breaking.
- Aesthetic Excellence: High-grade, medical-grade plastic that is virtually invisible, ensuring your smile looks great throughout the entire process.
- Proven Reliability: A time-tested method for delivering the precise, life-changing results we plan for your face and airway.
- Safe and Biocompatible: Fully certified materials designed for long-term health and safety.
Specialized Technology: Direct 3D-Printed Aligners
In specific clinical scenarios, we may recommend Direct 3D-Printed Aligners (using Graphy Inc.’s Tera Harz TC-85 resin). These are selected only when your specific jaw or tooth movements would benefit from their unique flexible properties.
How Shape Memory Works (3D-Printed Only)
Before insertion: The aligner is briefly placed in warm water (about 60–70°C) for 10–15 seconds to soften the material, making it easier to seat comfortably.
Once in your mouth: As it reaches body temperature, the material returns to its original “memory” shape, applying gentle, continuous pressure.
⚠️ CRITICAL: Know Your Aligner Type
Because we use two different technologies, you must follow the correct care protocol for your specific aligners to avoid damaging your treatment.
For Our Default Thermoformed Aligners
NEVER use hot water. Heat will permanently warp and destroy thermoformed aligners. Always clean them with cool or lukewarm water only.
How to be sure
- Your care team will confirm your aligner type during your consultation.
- If you are unsure, DO NOT use heat. Contact us first for clarification.
