Using Your Graphy Aligners
Graphy Aligners are made from an advanced 3D-printed material with shape memory technology. This allows them to apply a gentle, consistent force to move your teeth. Their unique heat-dependent properties make them different from traditional aligners.
How Graphy Aligners Work
- At Room Temperature: The aligners are rigid and can be fragile. Excessive bending or forceful handling may cause them to crack or break.
- When Heated Above Body Temperature: The material becomes flexible and easy to manipulate.
- At Body Temperature: Once in your mouth, the aligners regain their shape and begin applying the correct force.
Instructions for Use
Before Inserting Your Aligners
- Heat the aligner with warm to hot water before placing it in your mouth.
- You may need to gently stretch the aligner slightly wider to fit over your teeth and gums.
- It may feel slightly loose at first, but once it cools to body temperature, it will start working effectively.
Removing & Reinserting Your Aligners
- When you remove your aligners, they may warp or lose their shape slightly.
- Never forcefully bend or twist the aligners, as this can lead to fractures.
- To reinsert them, warm them again with hot tap water to restore their flexibility.
Cleaning Your Aligners
- Brush off any debris or plaque using a soft toothbrush.
- Avoid toothpaste or harsh powders, as these can damage the material.
- To sterilize, soak the aligners in steaming hot water (just below boiling) for 5 minutes.
Key Differences from Traditional Aligners
- Graphy Aligners have a different texture and feel compared to standard plastic aligners.
- They are slightly thicker but provide enhanced durability and control over tooth movement.
- Unlike traditional aligners, Graphy Aligners require careful handling at room temperature to prevent cracking or breakage.
By following these steps, you can ensure your Graphy Aligners work effectively and comfortably throughout your treatment.
