Let’s Get Started: Your Step-by-Step Guide to Clear Aligner Treatment
At Clear Aligners Direct, we’ve made the process as straightforward and affordable as possible. Follow the steps below to begin your journey toward a healthier, more confident smile. We genuinely care about your success and are here to guide you every step of the way.
Step 1: Send Us Your Records (See the form at the end or chat/ speak to Clara)
This evaluation process is completely free until you decide to move forward.
We need a few photos and details to evaluate your case and determine your eligibility for treatment. Please send the following:
- Photos of Your Teeth:
- Front smile view.
- View from below your teeth to show any overlap.
- Top view of the upper arch (ask someone to help if needed).
- Top view of the lower arch.
- Full-Face Photos:
- Relaxed face profile.
- profile with wide smile or grimace. This helps us assess how your teeth relate to your cranial structure. we need to see the top teeth in the profile
- Full-face smile
- Relaxed face from the front
- A short video of you opening and closing your mouth as wide as possible.
- Posture Photos: (If you really want to get the full assessment and have this considered in your treatment planning)
- Front and side views in a completely relaxed posture. Please wear tight-fitting clothing to better show your natural posture and any compensations.

Step 2: Share Your Treatment Goals
Help us understand what you’re looking to achieve. Include details such as:
- Whether your need is purely cosmetic or related to issues like jaw joint pain, headaches, airway problems, snoring, or sleep apnea.
- If you’ve had orthodontic treatment before and, if so, the details.
- Any advice or suggestions you’ve received from other professionals.
- Any additional health professionals, like osteopaths or chiropractors, you’re working with so we can coordinate care.
- If you’re not sure about your periodontal(gum) health get that evaluated first. Just be aware that some periodontal issues are actually caused by orthodontic problems. So if you have an issue that hasn’t responded well to conventional periodontal treatment- this may be the reason- we look at all of this as well.
Step 3: Provide Additional Records (Optional)
- X-rays: If you already have panoramic or cephalometric X-rays, send them along. Don’t go out of your way to get them unless we confirm they’re necessary.
- Intraoral Scans: If you’ve had a digital scan done, share it with us. This can speed up the process.
Step 4: Review and Approval
Once we receive your records, we’ll:
- Evaluate your case and determine if you’re eligible for treatment.
- We will let you know if we need any further records or information from your other healthcare provider or dentist
This evaluation process is completely free until you decide to move forward.
Step 5: Payment and Treatment Plan
- If you’re ready to proceed, pay a 50% deposit.
- If you haven’t had a recent intra oral scan done, get one done and have it sent to us-all modern up to date dentists have intra oral scanners. Digital dentistry is the future, now. Please not this is not an x-ray.
- Once your deposit is received, we’ll finalize your case and provide a detailed breakdown of your aligner journey, including how many aligners you’ll need.
- Provide you with a personalized video presentation of your treatment plan.
- If you have questions, Dr. Kruger will address them before finalizing the treatment.
Step 6: Receive Your Aligners
- Your aligners will be ready approximately 10 days after the treatment plan is finalized and you have accepted the treatment and signed the informed consent paperwork.
- Start wearing your aligners without attachments initially. You can put them in yourself. Once needed, we’ll provide a template for your dentist or hygienist to place attachments.
- Instructions here.
Step 7: Monitor and Adjust
- You’ll receive guidance on when to move to the next aligner. If you’re unsure, simply send a close-up photo.
- If some teeth don’t move as expected, don’t worry. We’ll adjust the plan and provide new aligners if necessary (refinements).
Your Dentist’s Role
- Your local dentist provides essential clinical support, such as scans and attachment placement. If your dentist is unwilling to assist, find one who supports this innovative treatment approach.
- Most procedures can be performed by a hygienist and should be priced similarly to a hygiene appointment.
